The serial will broadcast a 30-minute live episode and a Lucy Beale flashback episode during the week.

The other instalments airing that week will also include live elements.

Meanwhile, EastEnders' 30th anniversary will be marked with two special broadcasts on Radio 2 next month.

Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has also promised that "there will be justice" at the end of the Linda Carter and Dean Wicks rape storyline.

Huge Twist in Linda/Dean Storyline

Wednesday, 28 January 2015

Many fans have been gripped by the current storyline which saw Linda attacked by her brother-in-law Dean back in October.
Fans will finally get their wish for revenge when Dean gets what he deserves, but not in the way you would expect.
EastEnders boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins told RadioTimes.com there will be a ‘shocking’ twist to the Linda and Dean rape plot.
‘There will be justice. And how it’s meted out will be satisfying but shocking too,’ he revealed.

Last week Linda reported Dean to the Police but Dominic says he will put the Carters in the centre of the drama, not the Police.

‘We’re not The Bill,’ he continued.
‘That show was about the police solving things. I don’t have main characters who are police officers.
‘We have tried very hard to create police characters who are interesting and who have their own stories. And there are more police twists coming up.
‘But that’s not who my viewers are tuning in to see.
‘They want to see Linda and Mick. They’re the people they care about and not the police. So the police solving it is not satisfying for the viewer.’

Last year the telly boss said that Dean – played by Matt Di Angelo – will not face trial for the brutal attack.
Discussing his reasons, he said: ‘The easy and wrong way would be to have Dean arrested and taken off to prison. That’s not what happens. I’d love to have done a big trial – we won’t be doing a trial.’
Kellie Bright – who plays Queen Vic landlady Linda Carter – also admitted she wants to see a showdown between her character and Di Angelo’s.
‘Recently, I’ve been feeling very strongly that Linda should have a face to face with Dean. There are a lot of people fighting for Linda and I personally want to see Linda fight for herself.’

Speaking to Inside Soap, Brooks said: "Without being presumptuous - who knows if they will want me back? - the opportunity to return would be good.

"I would love to see what Janine has been up to - I imagine she is struggling, sleeping in her sister Diane's spare bed."

Despite being happy to return, Brooks believes that her time away from the show was important, in order to give viewers a rest from Janine.

Brooks said: "The thing with Janine is that she is the type of character who needs a rest to keep her interesting. But you can take her in all directions, and I love how they manage to keep her just the right side of camp.

"I especially loved my last line on the show, when this guy asks Janine what she has been doing, and she looks at him and says, 'Getting away with murder'. Amazing."

Next month the Comedian/Actor/Presenter will be walking into Walford. He is tipped to be the new badman of the east end giving Phil Mitchell a run for his money.

Richards main priority when he arrives in E20? Well it seems to be the women! Richard will join the cast during the live week in February.

Speaking to The Radio Times, Richard says: "He's not just a villain in the sense that he's a basic villain," he told RadioTimes.com at last night's National Television Awards. "He's got good layers to him so I'm really looking forward to going in there and freaking people out."
Blackwood will speak his first lines live on set next month, but he's already made a sneaky appearance in Walford when a poster for one of his comedy gigs appeared in the background during last Monday's episode.

"That was on purpose," he says. "EastEnders know what they're doing. They subliminally put my picture in your head and you go, 'was that Richard Blackwood?' And bam, live episode – I'm there. It's to plant the seed. People think it was a mistake – it's not a mistake."

After Linda reports her rape ordeal to the police, the whole Carter family attempt business as usual at The Vic by hosting a karaoke night, despite their worries that justice won't be served.

Someone Helps Dot Murder Her Son

Dot Branning is about to shock the world of television when she murders her son Nick during the shows 30th Anniversary.

Dot will also have help in the murder in the shape of someone she holds dear. All of us here at WalfordEast think it's Fatboy!

It is thought that Dot will take the full rap for killing her son during the 30th Anniversary live shows next month.
Dot will hand herself into the Police saying "I did it, I killed my son". There will be no huge investigation.

“It will emerge she may have had at least one accomplice, who may have actually carried it out. Dot might be taking the rap to protect someone.

“Gradually viewers will be able to piece together what happened with the help of flashbacks. It will be more like Broadchurch than Albert Square.”
It will be the second time Nick, played by John Altman, 62, has “died” after he faking his own demise last year.

Richard Blackwood is EastEnders New Villain!

A new villain arrives in Walford in the same week that Nasty Nick Cotton is finally killed off.
Comedian, singer, DJ and former MTV host Richard Blackwood, 42, starts filming in Albert Square for live episodes to mark the BBC soap’s 30th anniversary next month.
The exact role is secret but insiders told the Sunday People it is “explosive” and he’s poised to become a larger-than-life new villain. If one thing EastEnders is currently without, that's a super-villain!

Richard, step-brother of supermodel Naomi Campbell, made his name hosting MTV’s music show Select in the 90s.
He had a No 3 single in 2003 with his song Mama Who Da Man.
Richard made a brief appearance in TV hospital drama Holby City and recently played Donkey in a West End production of Shrek.

Calling the role an “amazing opportunity” he said: “EastEnders is a show I’ve grown up watching so to film on Albert Square is something I’ll never get used to.
“To know my first-ever scene will be a live one hopefully means the team believe in me and I won’t let them down.”

Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: “Richard has always been on our EastEnders wish list – and now the perfect part has come along.
“He’s an authentic Londoner and a terrific actor, bringing with him warmth, humour and energy which will add so many layers to this 21st century EastEnders villain.
"The status quo in the Square is about to be well and truly shaken.”

The show, first broadcast on February 19, 1985, is celebrating its big anniversary with one fully live 30-minute episode and other live segments throughout the week.
The killer of Lucy Beale will finally be unmasked and long-term bad-boy Nasty Nick Cotton (John Altman) will be murdered. His long-suffering mum Dot Branning (June Brown) will shock everyone when she confesses to the killing.

Sources say one episode will be a flashback to Good Friday last year when viewers will see exactly how and why Lucy died. In the same week her father Ian Beale will remarry ex-wife Jane.
Show favourite Barbara Windsor will also be back as Peggy Mitchell and Jo Joyner as Tanya Cross as part of the celebrations.

Happiness for the Carters?

The big man at the top Dominic Treadwell-Collins has promised to ease up on the Carter misery for a little while in 2015.

Linda and Mick Carter, played by Kellie Bright and Danny Dyer, are working to stay strong together as Linda fights for justice against Mick's brother Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) who raped her.

Linda is also facing the prospect of giving birth to her baby, not knowing if the father is Dean or Mick.
On top of that Mick has had to cope with the news that the woman he thought was his sister, Shirley (Linda Henry), is actually his mother. Not to mention all the problems going on with their other children Johnny, Nancy and Lee.

But Dominic told Inside Soap magazine: "We've scripted the birth, which is suitably dramatic, of course!
"But ultimately it's not going to be all bleak for the Carter clan. The storylines we're playing out on screen at the moment are heavy, but there will be some joy coming up for the family."
Kellie admits it can't all be easy for the Carters.
She said: "It wouldn't ring true if Mick and Linda's relationship was all rosy after the revelations.
"Of course it changes their partnership, and there's her unborn child into the mix too.
"If you ask me, though, Mick Carter is the best husband on the planet.
"I never had any doubt that he would react to Linda's confession in the way that he has."
