It has been announced that Ben Hardy will play Angel in the new X-Men movie Apocalypse. He recently lost out on the role of Cyclops. The Wrap's Jeff Sneider - who first broke the news of Hardy's appointment - has now confirmed that he will play the heroic Angel.
The news follows Singer's recent social media posts that saw concept art featuring Angel-esque wings in a cage.
Ben Foster previously Angel in X-Men: The Last Stand. In the comics, Angel loses his wings before earning them back by agreeing to join the evil Apocalypse, leading to the creation of Archangel.
Oscar Isaac will play Apocalypse in the new film, while young versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Jubilee and Storm will appear alongside the likes of Xavier (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicolas Hoult).
X-Men: Apocalypse will arrive in cinemas on May 27, 2016.
