Dean will have a change of heart next week when he decides he wants to meet his daughter Jade. After a DNA test is taken and proves he is her father, Dean feels she will be better off without him in her life.
Shirley is of course adamant she wants to get custody of her grandchild, after a few attempts, they finally get foster dad Jonathan to arrange a visit with Jade to meet her family.
When they initially meet with Jonathan, with the support of Buster the pair tell him they want to get custody of Jade and arrange for the meet up in the week.
Once she arrives back home, Shirley feels overwhelmed with guilt for going behind Dean's back, but is persuaded by Buster not to tell him the truth.
However, as her guilt rises, Shirley decides to come clean to Dean about Jade's visit, but a furious Dean tries to persuade them to cancel it.
Later, Shirley and Dean have a heart-to-heart and she tries to persuade him to step up and be a father figure to Jade.
Shirley's words appear to have had the desired effect when Dean arrives home and tells Shirley and a worried Buster that he has changed his mind and he now wants to meet his daughter.
A nervous Dean later meets his daughter for the first time, but will all go to plan?
