"Taking my kit off is just part of being Kush," says EastEnders star Davood

Davood Ghadami who plays Kush in EastEnders explains (in the latest Radio Times) how getting his kit off is all part of the character he plays and that it balances the heavier storylines with something a little lighter.

A few times we have seen Kush with his clothes off, more than is actually necessary. "Taking my kit off is just part of being Kush, and it's nice to balance out heavier storylines with the lighter stuff," said the actor.

"They were real handcuffs and it wasn't the warmest day," Ghadami told Inside Soap. "Lots of the cast were snapping selfies."

However, next week's episodes of EastEnders will take a dark turn for both Kush and his fiancee Shabnam when the pair learn that their unborn child has died.
It's the start of a traumatic storyline for the pair that looks set to threaten their future together. "When any couple goes through a trauma, it's bound to test their relationship. There's hope that they're strong enough to get through it - but they'll be met with obstacles that no couple should have to face."

Ghadami's words echo those of co-star Rakhee Thakrar, who expressed hope that Shabnam and Kush could weather the storm ahead.
Said the actress: "Kush and Shabnam's relationship will be tested beyond all limits. Grief can be very isolating and everyone handles it in their own unique way. Shabnam's trademark coping mechanism is to shut everyone out. Which will inevitably cause problems with Kush.
"I hope they can recover - I think they're a special couple who make it feel like things that seem impossible can be possible."
