Jay Finally Gets Big Story!

Jay Mitchell has been in some storylines since he first appeared in 2006. This time it's his turn to get a big story!

EastEnders boss Dominic was asked about Jay's future in 2016, he was told that many fans are upset that their Walford favourite has never really had any big storylines recently, the one most people remember is when he was stabbed by bullies nearly 9 years ago.

DTC said Jay will actually have one of the biggest storylines next year on EastEnders. Jamie Borthwick has already been told of his new story and is said to be delighted.

Obviously, details surrounding the story are to be kept under wraps for the moment, but at least he's not being killed off over Christmas!

Jamie was also praised for his acting when Heather Trott was killed and he had to keep the secret. Jamie played an outstanding part of someone struggling with a dark secret that started to eat away at him from the inside.

Since then, Jay Mitchell has pretty much plodded along with small storylines. He supported Lola when she became a mum and of course his relationship with Abi Branning are a couple of examples. He is also occasionally mixed up in Ben Mitchell's mess. At least we all have something to look forward to as Jamie is a fantastic actor with so much more to show.

EastEnders launches its Christmas fortnight on Monday (December 21) at 8pm on BBC One.
