Alfie finally gets himself to hospital for the all important tests, and he has Phil and Ian by his side. Alfie was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year and then moved abroad against the wishes of his doctor.
When Alfie gets an urgent call from his doctor, he asks Ian to go with him. Ian waits for Alfie to have his scan but leaves when he remembers he has an interview with Bobby's boarding school. Ian asks Phil to step in and it ends in Alfie getting a few harsh truths about the situation. He urges Alfie to speak to Kat and to be open with her about his condition.
EastEnders airs these scenes on Wednesday, January 6 and Thursday, January 7 on BBC One.
