Many of you knew it was coming but Ben certainly didn't. Abi will reveal to Ben that she is pregnant. Ben has been gearing up to tell Abi the truth, that he is gay and in love with Paul Coker. It seems he will put his plans on hold.
Speaking to DigitalSpy, Harry who plays Ben said: "[It's a] massive shock. It is quite terrifying. He doesn't initially want the baby, but that is through the fear.
"You have to remember Ben does already have a
child [and] he's never really bothered to be a part of her life, and he
was more than happy for Lola to go away with Lexi and it didn't really
affect him.
"There's a lot of references to that in the
episodes, because Ben now wants to be a proper dad. He wants to prove to
everyone that he can be that father figure. At first it is a shock,
fear, and you know it's a big moment to happen with everything else
that's going on."
Ben decides to put his relationship with Paul on the back burner. He thinks he's doing the right thing by sticking with her through the pregnancy, we all know that's the worst thing he could do. It's Walford Ben, you secrets will come out eventually!
"It's quite a confusing time," Reid said. "This baby is an opportunity to be the man he's always aspired to be in Phil's eyes.
"For
Ben, this is a real chance to go, 'I want to fall in love with this
child'. But essentially, what he really wants is a happy life with a
man, Paul being the one. But that just isn't gonna happen.
Harry reveals he is happy to be part of the storyline, even if it means his character has to be stuck in a loveless relationship. The baby bombshell will be aired on February 12th on BBC One.
