Danny Dyer up for LGBT Award

EastEnders Danny Dyer for LGBT Award.

Danny Dyer will have to compete with the likes of Bette Midler and Kim Cattrall but he has just been nominated for a prestigious British LGBT Award, given to those in the spotlight who show support to the LGBQ community.

Dyer, along with Sam Strike were praised in the past for their portrayal of a son coming out to his father. It received widespread applause, and rightly so.

With the return of Johnny, to be played by Ted Reilly, we're sure there will be more fantastic storylines for the pair in the future.

Fans can vote on this year's awards online through March 22.

The British LGBT Awards are held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on May 13.
