Diane Parish has played Denise Fox for ten years, it has been her second stint on EastEnders. Diane played a character back in 1998 called Lola Christie for six months.
Speaking to The Daily Mail,
Diane revealed how chuffed she was to be named as one of the longest
serving characters in the show, 'That makes me feel old and a little
bewildered, because I don't know where the time's gone. I realised last
September I've been acting for 25 years, and to think ten of those years
have been in one show is crazy.'
There have been many occasions she has wanted to quit the show before another explosive storyline came along to convince her to stay. 'There are times when my feet have been
itching,' laughs the 46-year-old mum-of-two. 'But life changes a lot and
there are always different motivating factors to stay. It could be
being presented with new challenges in terms of storyline, or because
the show has constantly revolving doors. I suppose things change so
often that life here never feels stale.'
Her latest storyline sees Denise step up to help her murderous ex-husbands son Jordan. 'Denise
could do without having Lucas back in her life - her friends tell her
this - but she thinks that by speaking to Lucas she'll help save Jordan
from going down the path his father did. So when Denise gets the call to
go and see Lucas in jail she takes it.
'She
doesn't know what will happen when she walks into that prison. But
Lucas is an evil and manipulative man who is plotting something. So it
could be a case of curiosity kills the cat. Will it be a case of
curiosity kills Denise? You'll have to wait and see!'
She continues 'Lucas is an evil and manipulative man who
is plotting something. So it could be a case of curiosity kills the cat.
Will it be a case of curiosity kills Denise? You'll have to wait and
see!'
