Jake Wood who plays Max Branning, appeared on ITV's This Morning to talk about Christmas in Walford.
Explaining about the slow-burning storyline of Max Branning, Jake said that sometimes the "story needs time to breathe" - He also built up the episodes running up to and over Christmas, saying "they are the best eps I've ever read".
EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One.
