Over the last two years, LGBT characters in EastEnders seemed to vanish. We see the departures of Paul Coker, Kyle Slater, Steven Beale, Johnny Carter, Derek Harkinson and Ben Mitchell, with sexually fluid Sonia Fowler and Tina Carter remaining.
Fans of EastEnders have been waiting for soap writers to introduce a same-sex character and it looks like we might just have one!
As the Walford teenagers gathered at the E20 to mourn the loss of Shakil, the gang decided to play an old classic, spin the bottle.

As the bottle landed, Tiffany leaned in for a kiss with Bernadette, leaving her stunned. By the following morning, Bernie got her wires crossed when Tiffany explained: "It was just a laugh, you don't have a be all weird about it, I'm not going to say I didn't enjoy it, because I did."
Bernie looked overjoyed, that was until it became clear that Tiff was talking about her brother Keegan. Twitter was alive with tweets from viewers wondering if Bernie is gay or bisexual, and I for one am glad that EastEnders haven't labelled it either way, sexuality is a journey and should be treated as such on screen.
