You might remember some time ago when Patrick Trueman won a sizable amount on a luckily horse, he decided to donate the money to Ted and Joyce, so they could visit their son in Australia.
After Karen Taylor's ex-boyfriend Mitch, stole the money, there hasn't really been any mention of it, until now.
While the two men enjoy a tipple in the Vic, Patrick is horrified to learn that Ted is keeping Joyce's ashes in a flask, he asks why he didn't use the money he gave him to give his wife a proper funeral.

As it dawns on Patrick that Ted never received the money, he starts to wonder if the Taylors managed to grab the money before Ted even noticed it was there.
Ted storms over to the Taylors to confront them about the missing money, telling them that he wants nothing to do with them ever again.
Bernadette is devastated by this and it doesn't take long before she realises it must have been Mitch who stole the cash.
Later, Karen tells Ted that neither she or her children had anything to do with the theft, but will pay him back every penny.
