Rainie Struggles with her Addiction as Cora Returns

Rainie turns to her past as she struggles to cope

EastEnders, BBC One

Cora Cross returns next week as the custody battle for baby Abi heats up, and Rainie will consider swapping sides.

Rainie married Max as part of a business deal, but last night's episode hinted that Rainie might be after something more.

Max is adamant that he doesn't want a relationship with Rainie, and when Cora turns up in Walford, she contemplates helping her mum get custody.

Her week gets off to a bad start when the ex-addict becomes tempted by drugs once again.

When she fails time and again to gain Max's attention, she suffers a moment of weakness and arranges to buy some drugs, only to be stopped by fellow ex-user, Phil Mitchell.

Phil decides to pay Max a visit to explain that Rainie is struggling to cope with her addiction, and she is touched when Max apologises for his behaviour.

She's in for another shock when Cora suggests they forget what has happened in the past, and start over again as mother and daughter.

Cora later meets with her daughter and her intentions become clear when she offers Rainie something that could change everything.
