4 Things to do with Robbie Jackson once Donna leaves The Square

With the news of Donna Yates (Lisa Hammond) decision to leave the soap for good this Summer, it leave’s a gap in the story of her now official boyfriend Robbie Jackson.

So here are 4 things EastEnders could do for the character of Robbie.



1. Bring back his ex wife Nita Mistry

EastEnders, BBC One

Robbie found love in Walford before his initial exit in the spring of 2003 with Nita Mistry. They both moved away, got married and even had a son together. So this makes perfect sense to bring these two characters back into the show, get her and Robbie back together and set up a more stable unit of characters around Robbie.


2. Move him on from sweeping the streets

EastEnders, BBC One

When Robbie came back into the show in 2017 he came back with a new confident attitude and drive for work and being successful. This character growth has been totally undone in recent months where we now see Robbie back to what he has always done, sweeping the streets of Walford.

I think it would be a good opportunity to make Robbie grow up a little after Donna leaves him and give him new vigar to create a new career path to follow. With the chance to meet new friends and maybe a new love interest from his place at work.



3. Bring back Robbie’s Father Gary Bolton and half brother Kevin

EastEnders, BBC One

Back in 2001 Robbie and Sonia go in search of Robbie’s father Gary, he finds out he also has a half brother called Kevin. Robbie’s father could move to Walford with his son Kevin to connect and try to be the farther he never was to Robbie.

With Gary’s past history with Big Mo we could even see a love interest grow between them both. Big Mo could become Robbie’s Mother in law! This opens up so many possibilities for future storylines and new characters to arrive as Kevin could have a young family by this point as well.


4. Robbies old best friend Matthew Rose returns

EastEnders, BBC One

Matthew Rose was last seen in 2000 seeking revenge on Mel Owen’s ex Steve for framing him for killing Saskia Duncan. Matthew could return to spend some time with his old friend Robbie when he sees Mel is back and running the club where Saskia was murdered.

This could lead to Matthew stalking Mel and Hunter blaming Matthew for his father’s downfall.
