Will Kate Oates Bring Back These 8 Characters?

Eight characters that could make their return with Kate Oates at the head of EastEnders

EastEnders Return
EastEnders, BBC One

When Kate Oates took over Emmerdale and Coronation Street, she thrilled viewers by bringing back some much loved characters.

Teaming up with John Yorke, before taking over the head role permanently, we have a feeling that some familiar faces will make their return to Walford.

Here are just a handful of possible characters that Kate will want to bring back, characters that have unfinished business in Albert Square.

Ben Mitchell - Last seen: 2018

BBC

Ben made his departure earlier this year, fleeing Walford with Ciara's money, but the drama settled down after Aidan crawled back under his rock.

With Phil Mitchell working abroad, viewers are speculating that he will return with his son, Ben.

Janine Butcher - Last seen: 2014

BBC

Janine Butcher is a character we all love to hate, especially with her constant feuding with Stacey Fowler.

Janine currently has one family member residing in Walford, her niece Tiffany Butcher, but if Janine was to return, we would hope Ryan would also make an appearance.

Ryan Malloy - Last seen: 2016

Ryan is still well connected to the square, with his ex, his daughter and his sister all living under the same roof. Dylan has made numerous guest appearances over the years, but will Kate decide to finally give this fan favourite a permanent slot?

Lee Carter - Last seen: 2017

BBC

Lee Carter left Walford last year after struggling with his mental health, and his relationship with Whitney Dean turning sour.

We're not sure how his friendship with Halfway would hold up, but that would be one awkward family dinner!

Shabnam Masood - Last seen: 2016

BBC

Shabnam left Walford to set up a new life with her daughter, Jade, who is also the granddaughter of Shirley Carter, and Masood Ahmed.

Would you like to see Shabnam and Jade make their east-end return?

Cindy Williams - Last seen: 2015

Cindy left Walford with Liam to live with Ricky Butcher in Germany. The once teenage tearaway is now 20 years old, and seeing her return to the UK to get access to her daughter, Beth, is surely a storyline waiting to happen!

Vincent Hubbard - Last seen: 2018 & Fatboy - Last seen:2015

BBC

Believe me when I say that EastEnders bosses know that this is exactly what viewers are desperate for, the return of both Vincent Hubbard and Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb.

Neither character has had an on-screen death, so surely it's possible? - Imagine Dot's face on Christmas day when she opens the door to find Fatboy on her doorstep, even for that one scene it would be worth it!

Kate's first episodes as Executive Producer are due to air later this year, expect some big changes ahead!

EastEnders air weeknights on BBC One.
