The BBC has revealed that they have hired a new executive producer to work alongside new soap boss, Kate Oates.
It has been confirmed that Jon Sen, the story producer and director of Casualty has been given the top role.
Jon has worked on EastEnders before, as well as Holby, and Waterloo Road. Speaking about joining the soap, Jon said: "I can't wait to get started in bringing bold, unmissable, state of the nation stories to a new generation of EastEnders fans."

"[EastEnders has] given us some of the most iconic TV water-cooler moments in living memory so I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Kate and the amazing EastEnders team at this exciting time in the show's history," he said.
EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One.
