Viewers are in for a treat next week when EastEnders airs an extra episode, with two episodes airing on Thursday 3rd January.
There will be the usual 30 minute episode on Monday (New Year's Eve) at 8pm, a one-hour episode on Tuesday (New Year's Day) at 8pm, no episode on Wednesday, two episodes on Thursday at 7.30pm & 8.30pm, and the usual Friday episode at 8pm.
The start of the week will focus on Mel's revenge against Ray, building up to an almighty showdown in the woods.
Tamzin Outhwaite who plays Mel Owen said about the revenge episode "it’s like a horror, it’s like the darker side of EastEnders" and she will not be letting her children watch.

Tamzin also told What's on TV that the epic episodes are full of stunts: “Action wise, it’s explosive,” she said. “I’m loving doing lots of fun stuff.”
Sean Mahon who plays Ray revealed: “Stunts are the best thing. That’s the great thing about Tamzin, we’re very similar that way – the more physical, the better the acting is."
The explosive episode will air for one-hour on New Year's Day at 8pm.
