EastEnders Announce Exciting New Set Coming to Walford!

"Something really exciting, really fun, really visual and feel really true to multi-cultural London."

New EastEnders Executive Producer Kate Oates has revealed that a cool alternative to The Queen Victoria pub will be coming to Walford.

When discussing the lack of LGBTQ characters in EastEnders, Speaking to The Sun, Kate explained: "I’m really interested in bringing some more LGBTQ characters in,"

With many of the external sets underused on the lot, Kate explained about her exciting new idea: "We’re looking at opening a gay bar on the Square which will be a super-cool precinct where gay and straight characters can all just hang out."

"It should be something really exciting, really fun, really visual and feel really true to multi-cultural London. "It’s an important move for the show to authentically reflect modern London life." she said.

Viewers have been left miffed over the last couple of years as the soap underwent a culling of its actors, which included many of its LGBTQ characters, including Paul Coker, Ben Mitchell, Kyle Slater, Steven Beale, and Johnny Carter.

Maybe Karen Taylor could get her drinks license and open the bar, now she would make one hell of a landlady!

EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One.
