Here's Why You Probably Recognised Doctor Waters From Last Night's EastEnders

Jean Slater's GP had many viewers asking where they had seen Esther Hall before

Some viewers were left wondering where they had seen Dr Waters before, who appeared for the first time in last night's episode.

Esther Hall who plays the GP has appeared in a long list of shows from Waking the Dead, Mount Pleasant and Silent Witness, but Esther is well known for laying Dr. Toni MacPherson in BBC's Doctors.



Monday's episode see Dr Elinor Waters delivers some alarming news to Jean that she needs to receive further tests because of a lump in her abdomen which showed signs of cancer.

Gillian Wright who plays Jean Slater recently told Digital Spy: "It's an honour and a huge responsibility to be taking on such an enormous issue, affecting so many women and their families. I'm aware of the impact such stories can have.

We stated yesterday that Gillian Wright was perfect for this storyline because she is a fantastic actor who has brought so much awareness around bipolar disorder, and we're sure she will do this much-needed storyline the justice it deserves.
