When Sean returns to Walford next week, he insists on going to Jean's chemotherapy appointment with her, but when he continuously raises the question about what the future may hold for their mum, Stacey begins to worry, leaving Sean wondering if he made a mistake returning.
When Jean reveals how happy she is to have him back, she asks if they can spend some quality time together. When he agrees, the pair head off to a remote farmhouse.
As the pair catch up, disaster strikes when Jean has an accident and injures her leg badly. She insists she's fine, but Sean realises how bad it is when Jean starts to lose her strength.

Fearing that this could be the last time he speaks to him mum, Sean makes a shocking admission while he still can.
As Jean's condition deteriorates, a panicking Sean calls for an ambulance and also phones Stacey, agreeing to meet her at the hospital.
