EastEnders Builds for Stacey's Exit from Walford

EastEnders builds up for Stacey's departure from Walford

Viewers were left fuming at Stacey Fowler during last night's episode after she stood up Martin to keep an eye on the man she cheated on her husband with in 2017.

After Max revealed that he had started self harming due to losing his granddaughter Abi, Stacey decided to stay by his side, fearful of what he might do if left alone.

During his drunken ramblings, Max revealed that when he closes his eyes, all he sees is his daughter, Abi, and Stacey.

Next week, Stacey will be shocked to learn that Max and Ruby are growing closer, and it's not long before she becomes jealous.

When Max informs Ruby that her best-friend is not happy about their new romance, she invites Martin and Stacey on a double date to get to the bottom of things.

The evening gets off to an awkward start, but as the date continues, Ruby grows increasingly frustrated with Stacey and confronts her over her problem.

Martin is another dinner guest who's not happy as he storms off after finding it difficult to remain civil around Max.

When the couple return home, Martin asks his wife if she still has feeling for Max, but Stacey's answer leaves Martin unconvinced.

Determined to make his marriage work, Martin asks Stacey to prove to him that she wants the same. Sadly, this creates an almighty row between the couple, putting any birthday celebrations for Martin on ice.

When Kush spots his troubled friend is in a bad mood, he invites him to the Vic for a drink, but he's surprised when Martin asks Kat to join them.

Back home, Stacey has a change of heart and heads off to make it up to her husband, but she's annoyed to find Martin celebrating with Kat and Kush, but the awkwardness doesn't stop there as Max and Ruby also arrive the pub.

With Stacey's upcoming departure from EastEnders just around the corner, could this be the end of Mr & Mrs Fowler?

Lacey Turner who plays Stacey Fowler, and husband Matt Kay, welcomed their baby daughter on Friday 12th July.

EastEnders air these scenes next week on BBC One.
