Mel and Hunter's exit from Walford will kick off next week when Mel receives shocking news about her son.
We revealed earlier this year that Tamzin Outhwaite will be leaving the soap over the summer/autumn, and Charlie Winter will return briefly. New details about their upcoming story has been released.
Hunter was last seen on our screens in April when Mel went to see the teenager in prison, urging him to stay strong.
After Mel receives a call to say that Hunter is being moved to another prison, she desperately turns to Gray for help, but she's devastated to learn that there's nothing he can do.
When she returns home, Mel finds the police waiting where they inform her that Hunter has escaped.
