Things Get Worse For Mel Owen Next Week

After her son was killed by armed police last week, Mel Owen is left with the heartbreaking task of organising Hunter's funeral.

Mel will upset Phil Mitchell when she withdraws money from the E20 accounts to help pay for the funeral, and when he finds out he decides to cut her off from the finances altogether.

Just a week after Hunter almost killed his son, Phil also insists that Jay has no involvement with the teenagers funeral.

With no money, Mel later asks Jay if he can scale back on the funeral, but she's shocked when he reveals that he can no longer be involved.

Despite Phil's demands, Jay shows he has a heart and allows Mel into the funeral home to spend some time with Hunter.

As the day of the funeral arrives, Louise is left conflicted when Phil bans her from attending the ceremony.

After the funeral, Mel and Lisa head to the Vic, but things get awkward when they arrive as the Mitchell's have also popped in for a drink.

It's not long before Phil discovers that Jay went behind his back and helped Mel, this leads to an explosive argument.
