Jean Slater recently struck up a friendship with fellow cancer patient Daniel Cook, but Jean will receive some devastating news about her new friend this week.
As Jean prepares for her operation, she lies to her family about it being postponed so they don't worry, but Daniel sees through her lies and steps in to support her.
Jean starts to notice that Daniel is acting out of character, but before she can ask him what's going on, she heads off to have her operation.
After her operation, Jean is thrilled when Kat arrives and has Stacey on the phone, but her mood takes a turn when Daniel makes a confession.
