A special episode of EastEnders, which focuses on Linda Carter's alcoholism, will air on New Year's Eve and follow the landlady as her addiction spirals out of control.
Linda's drinking became a huge problem over the festive period when the character missed Christmas Day with her family, heading off on Christmas Eve before ending up in hospital. But there's a big gap in her day which will be filled in on another special on New Year's Day.

Linda promises her husband that she won't drink, but when she throws herself into the celebrations, it all becomes too much of a temptation and she starts to knock back the alcohol once again.
As midnight approaches, Linda's night takes a troubling turn when she finds herself in a very dangerous situation, one that highlights another consequence of alcohol abuse.
Executive producer Jon Sen revealed to Digital Spy earlier this month: "Over the past few months, we've watched as Linda Carter struggles to cope and finds solace in the bottom of a bottle.

"Over the festive period, Linda spirals further into addiction, culminating in a New Year's Eve special episode told completely from Linda's point of view.
"This blistering episode portrays the harrowing consequences of Linda's alcohol abuse on her friends and family alike. It is one of the most unique and important episodes we've made since my arrival a year ago."
EastEnders airs this episode at 7.30pm on New Year's Eve.
