Here's What's Happening in EastEnders Over Christmas

As Christmas Day approaches, EastEnders will continue to ramp up the drama as many of the storylines which have been building over the last year are set to reach their conclusions.

Here's a look at what's happening in EastEnders over Christmas week:


Martin's Horrific Christmas

Martin has been heading down a dark path for some time, and over Christmas his actions are set to leave him with sleepless nights after a new job goes horribly wrong.

When Sonia asks him to move back in to spend Christmas with his family, she's shocked at his reaction. Later, Martin agrees to take on another job with Tubbs, a lot more risk but a much bigger payout.

Sadly, when the job takes a horrifying turn, Martin is left traumatised and he's ordered to set fire to his van. What has Martin done?


Linda Carter's Alcoholism Escalates

During the Queen Vic Nativity, Mick was left worried for his wife after she continued to drink heavily, even enlisting the help of Sharon Mitchell, the one person who knows the devastation alcohol can have on a family.

Realising his wife has a problem with drink, and heartbroken that the mum's at the school keep their children away from her because of it, Mick is on a mission to do everything he can to help.

When Lee Carter arrives to spend Christmas with his family, it's not long before he relises what's going on and steps in to help.

Speaking to Radio Times, Kellie Bright revealed there's a lot more to come from this story: “What she does while under the influence of alcohol is pretty horrendous. You see a side to her that is unpredictable, dark and dangerous. Then on New Year’s Eve you think she really hits rock bottom – but there is more to come! What she does is unbelievable, when I got the script I was shocked. Mick is horrified and disgusted by her behaviour and can’t handle it. There is concern, but also anger.”


Kat Slater Fights Dirty

The Slater family recently learned that their house, formely owned by Janine Butcher, had been sold. It came as a shock for most of the family except Mo, who had ignored the notices from the estate agent.

Over Christmas, Kat is relieved when Kheerat backs down and allows them to stay, but the news that their rent is being increased does not go down well. Kat comes up with a plan to put things right and sets the wheels in motion.

What does Kat have up her sleeve, and will it work?


Kush Uncovers Daniel's Deception

Kush found out this week that Jean's friend Daniel Cook was alive. This came as a shock for the market stall worker who accompanied Jean to his memorial service.

After a chat with Daniel at the hospital, it soon became clear that his intentions were to spare Jean's heartbreak when he eventually does die from his cancer.

Kush is now in an unenviable position as he knows the truth, but will he share the discovery with Jean?

The end of 'Ballum'?

Spotting his boyfriend escorting a badly battered Jack Branning home, it wouldn't be surprising to find out that Callum Highway is having serious doubts about his relationship, but it seems Ben gets in there first when he tells his boyfriend that their relationship is over.

Will 'Ballum' be back together before the new year?


Phil's Revenge

This is the moment you have all been waiting for, the truth about Sharon and Keanu finally revealed. Keanu recently see what happened to Jack Branning and he's certainly going to try and stop that from happening to himself.

Over the next week Phil, Louise and Ben, will all find out the truth about the affair, and the truth about who's the father of Sharon's baby. As you can expect, the revelation doesn't go down too well with Phil, and we know that Danny Walters who plays Keanu is leaving the soap over Christmas.

The news of his departure has left fans fearing the worst for the character. Will Keanu make it through Christmas week alive? Well luckily we only have a few days to wait and find out.


 Honey & Billy Reunion?

When Honey stood up to Adam and moved back in with Billy, the nation cheered, but EastEnders threw a spanner in the works when it was revealed that Billy was now seeing Karen Taylor.

Although Honey and Billy share a kiss over the Christmas period, EastEnders are keeping quiet about a possible reunion for the estranged couple, and with the announcement that Emma Barton, who plays Honey, will be briefly leaving the soap, a reunion may not be on the cards for some time.
