When Will EastEnders Resume Filming? Here's The Latest Update

The Government has backed a possible return to work for Emmerdale and Coronation Street production teams, but what about EastEnders?



With many soaps filming four to eight weeks in advance, we've been lucky enough to keep our favourite shows airing weekly, but many fans are starting to worry that their weekly fix to EastEnders may come to an end.



It was revealed earlier this week that the government backed a possible return to work for ITV's Emmerdale and Coronation Street, but sticking to strict guidelines. BBC drama controller Piers Wenger gave EastEnders fans hope when he mentioned that work on a brand new series of Talking Heads could be underway at Elstree Studios very shortly, the same studios EastEnders is filmed.

Australian soap Neighbours has resumed filming and admitted to using camera trickery to make social distancing less noticeable on screen.

So when will EastEnders, Holby and Casualty continue production? The BBC executive did admit that the three BBC continuing dramas were "not quite at that point yet", but said he would consider options to "[quarantine] actors and crew in order to allow actors to interact in the same space"
