EastEnders' Ben Mitchell Receives Heartbreaking News

Ben Mitchell has been suffering from hearing loss since the boat accident in February, but his spirit was uplifted recently when he learned the operation which could potentially restore his hearing had been scheduled to take place.  

Keen to impress his father, Ben wrongly assured Phil that the operation would be a success, and to make matters worse Ben has also agreed to help his father with a new job.

Tonight's episode will see Callum become infuriated with his boyfriend when Ben seemingly putting his mind on the upcoming job rather than his operation. Despite a row between the couple, Callum will return to the hospital but becomes concerned with Ben's deteriorating health.

Kathy also becomes concerned with Ben's health, and after newcomer Frankie has a public argument with the doctor, Ben is left fearing over his future, but becomes determined to continue with the operation regardless.

Unfortunately for Ben, because he is so unwell the doctor refuses to carry out the operation, leaving him devastated. Hearing the news, Phil is alarmed and is left wondering what will happen with his big job.
