Despite EastEnders being given the green light to return to filming, the cast
and crew will not be able to return to Elstree until the end of the month.
We've been ticking along nicely with out twice weekly episodes, but many fans
have been dreading the moment it would all come to an end, and unfortunately
we have discovered today that we're not far away from that moment.
According to The Sun, an EastEnders insider has revealed the BBC will run out
of episodes in just two weeks time: "It's due to go off air on 16 June.
"Talks about when the cast are returning to set are ongoing."
As soon as production was halted, EastEnders bosses took the decision to cut
down the weekly episodes to just two, keeping the Walford based soap on TV as
long as possible.
ITV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale have already resumed filming, with
strict distancing rules and medical screenings for all cast and crew.
There has been no confirmation of when we can expect to see EastEnders return to our screens, but we would hope to see it back by the end of July, beginning of August fingers crossed!
More details to follow.

I watch EastEnders on drama
ReplyDeleteTypical BBC goes off air for approx 6 weeks while ITV are already filming Coronation Street and Emmerdale with no break. Take the shame BBC.
ReplyDeleteIs it not worth doing some re-runs until they resume filming and have enough to air. Maybe doing as cast favourite shows x
