Soap writers have a very small window to create new stories, usually
hitting them out one after another, but the lockdown has given them the time
to create something special for us to look forward to when the soap
returns later in the year. One storyline revealed includes EastEnders'
character Sonia Jackson.
Upcoming scenes will see Sonia struggle as she readjusts to life alone without
her teenage daughter, Bex, so she decides to delve deeper into her own past.
Feeling lonely without her family in Walford, Sonia looks into the
whereabouts of her long-lost father, Terry Cant.
Not much is known about Sonia's biological father Terry, a man she
never got to meet as a baby created from a one-night-stand. This gives huge
potential for storyliners to come up with something gripping.
EastEnders will tease Sonia's upcoming storyline next week before the soap
comes off the air until later this year.
