With the return of EastEnders just around the corner (click here for the live countdown clock) it's not surprising that fans are worried about the future of the Carter family.
Mick and Linda are the very head of the local community, but when a past landlord of the Vic pulls their last pint, it's usually not long before the character leaves Walford, mainly because it's difficult to put that character into a different role within the community. It's like Ian Beale without a business, the writers would struggle.
Reading today's Radio Times article has pointed out something that could save the Carter family. Maybe bring back some of their family members?
Viewers need something to get their teeth into before a characters become boring, whether that's kick-starting the Whitney Dean/Mick Carter affair, bringing back Dean Wicks, or seeing the return of their children, or even aunt Babe!

Rebuilding the Carter family could be a huge move, simply because pretty much every family in Walford has been shrunken down to a handful of characters.
So where are the other members of the Carter family now? Well, aunt Babe was forced to leave Walford way back in 2017 following her manipulative behaviour, and she hasn't really been mentioned since. Annette Badland who played Babe, revealed in an interview she was devastated with how the character left the soap and would be up for returning.

Danny Hatchard returned to the soap recently as Lee Carter and viewers
were thrilled to see he had rebuilt his life and was finally doing well, but
after being away from Walford for so long, there's a huge list of potential
storylines for the character. So what about his siblings?
As we know Nancy is off living her best life with Tamwar Masood. The pair got married abroad, but with Himesh Patel's success in Hollywood, it's unlikely the actor would return. So if Nancy was to come home it would mean a recast of Tamwar, which would not be acceptable, or splitting up the happy couple.
Then there's Johnny - EastEnders had recast the role, this time being played by Ted Reilly. Ted appeared as Johnny for less than two years and the actor didn't really get any decent storylines. His exit came at a time of a huge shake up at EastEnders, seeing the departures of Abi and Lauren Branning, Fi Browning, and Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) to make way for Masood Ahmed, Woody Woodward, Mel Owen and Tiffany Butcher.

Other characters who could potentially return are Buster Briggs (Mick
Carter's biological father) Shirley Carter's daughter Carly Wicks, her evil
little brother Dean Wicks, and of course Tina's daughter Zsa Zsa.
We personally would love to see the return of Zsa Zsa because Tina is in desperate need of her own storyline, instead of appearing in the background of others. Zsa Zsa was as loud and confident as her aunt Shirley and would bring the drama to Walford.
Zsa Zsa's last mention was in 2018 when Tina headed off to France to visit her. Would you like to see her return?
