EastEnders' Social Distancing Kissing Trick Revealed

EastEnders resumed filming some weeks ago, and with the new episodes landing on our screens in just two weeks time, viewers have been left wondering how certain scenes will be filmed whilst sticking to the strict government guidelines.

It was revealed some time ago that special camera trickery will be used to make the characters look like they are standing closer to each other than in reality, and Lorraine Stanley even said the soap were using CGI. But what about kissing?

It has been revealed today that a screen has been created that allows the characters to kiss on-screen, but viewers will be none the wiser.

The actors will lock lips as usual, but now they will have a sheet of Perspex between them which will be removed in post-production. It has also been confirmed that certain groups of actors have been put into "bubbles" which makes filming a lot safer for all those involved.

EastEnders returns on Monday 7th September, 8pm on BBC One.
