It has been revealed today that Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt will be written out of EastEnders just when the soap returns to TV.
Adam, who has been on the show since the start in 1985, is said to be taking an extended break from Walford as part of a new Ian Beale storyline.
An EastEnders insider told Digital Spy: "Ian's going to be off-screen as part of a big storyline. Bosses are keeping tight-lipped, but it's unclear how long it will be."
It is thought, but not confirmed, that Ian could be forced out of Walford when the truth about his involvement in Dennis' death is revealed to Sharon.
Currently Sharon is Queen of the Vic once again thanks to the financial backing of her best friend.
