EastEnders Confirms Davood Ghadami is Leaving EastEnders

It's a sad day in soapland as EastEnders reveal Davood Ghadami departure from EastEnders after six years.

Fans of Kush Kazemi don't need to rush out and grab the Kleenex just yet, the actor will be around for some time to come.

Speaking to Digital Spy, an EastEnders spokesperson said: "We can confirm Davood will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end next year.

Davood has been a wonderful addition to EastEnders and we wish him all the best for the future."

Speaking of Davood's departure, executive produce Kate Oates said: "Davood is a fantastic actor and a hugely popular company member, so we will miss him hugely."

As you know, with a big character departure comes a big story. An insider revealed: "Bosses have a huge plot planned, but although Davood was told in January, his departure is not for a very long time yet. In fact Kush will be on screen until well into 2021. It's a shame and he will be missed by everyone at Elstree but sometimes the cost of having a big storyline means losing big characters."

It's unusual for a soap to announce the departure of a character so early, so could this "huge plot" be something that starts pretty soon on-screen?

What do you think will lead to the departure of Kush Kazemi from Waford?
