EastEnders First Look: Mick opens up to Shirley about his past

Mick Carter has been harbouring a secret ever since he learned Frankie Lewis is his daughter, a secret that is causing enormous amounts of stress on his mental health.

Recent episodes have seen him lash out at every member of his family, including his mum Shirley. But EastEnders have revealed that Mick is about to get a weight off his chest when he finally opens up to his mum.

Mick's family are currently unaware he fathered a daughter at the age of 12 after being sexually abused. Next week, when Mick's text messages to Frankie go unanswered, he's surprised to see her return to the Square next week.

When Mick realises his marriage is suffering due to his behaviour, he goes out of his way to make amends and even interrupts Linda at work, hoping to make a good impression on her.

With things seemingly back on track for the couple, Linda soon realises that something dark is bothering her husband.

Worried that his mental health has taken a turn for the worse, Linda makes an appointment for Mick to get his medication checked, but he's furious when he finds out Linda went behind his back.

Later, Shirley pays her son a visit to explain how worried Linda and the family are about him. During their conversation, Shirley takes the opportunity to ask Mick about his connection to Frankie.
