EastEnders have revealed new pictures of the moment the police launch an investigation into the vicious attack on Ian Beale. Ian's motionless body will be discovered on the floor of the Vic next week.
After Ian's attack, the attacker will be seen by viewers creeping past Ian's body as they try to leave the pub unnoticed.
When Sharon returns from picking up her son, she's horrified to find her friend on the floor and immediately calls Kathy.
As the pair wait for the ambulance to arrive, they are left fearing the worst when they fail to find a pulse.

Later, with Ian fighting for his life in hospital, Jack Branning is put in charge of the investigation into finding out who is responsible.
Jack knows Ian has a long list of enemies to question, but it's not long before he makes a breakthrough.
After making some significant discoveries, the police arrest one member of the community. Unfortunately for them, it seems they have the wrong person when an alibi is given, but they're soon given a fresh lead in the investigation.

By the end of the following week, Jack has a new suspect who is brought in for questioning. This time, Callum Highway is put in charge of the interviewing. Could the answers point the police closer to home?
