Recent scenes have seen Ian Beale fighting for his life after a mysterious attacker left him motionless on the floor of the Vic, and viewers are still wondering who his attacker could be.
The whodunnit storyline is about to take another twist in the coming weeks when the attacker strikes for the second time.
After recovering from his beating, Ian returns home to Albert Square but it soon becomes clear that someone still wants him dead.
As the local residents countdown to Christmas, Ian is found by Kathy and Sharon cowering in a corner after a loud bang is heard outside.

Wanting to show her support, Kathy tries to arrange for the family to get together for Christmas Day, but things turn nasty when Bobby and Peter reluctantly arrive at the Vic to speak to their dad.
Later, DCI Arthurs arrives to inform Ian and Sharon that Tina Carter has been brought in for questioning.
Ian's relief is short-lived when a nasty incident happens at home, and this causes him to realise how nasty he has been to everyone around him.
Deciding to put things right with everyone, Ian starts by apologising to Peter and Bobby for his actions. Unfortunately it seems the damage has already been done.

As Christmas Day arrives, one Albert Square resident makes a lethal move - and it's clear they won't stop until Ian is dead.
