Stacey Slater worries about her future next week when she's told by her solicitor that she could receive a six month prison sentence if she pleads guilty to attacking Ruby Allen.


Unfortunately for Stacey, the family can't continue to pay for her legal help, so Jean comes up with a plan when she notices Chantelle's jewellery box as she cleans Gray's home.



Feeling guilty about stealing Chantelle's jewellery, Jean takes out her frustration on Ruby and Martin when she crosses paths with them in the square.

Later, Jean persuades Kush to take Martin out for a drink so she can go over to Ruby's house to speak privately.


Jean pleads with Ruby to drop the charges against her daughter., begging her not let Stacey go to prison again.



The following day Jean is gobsmacked when Ruby reveals that she's going to drop all the charges against Stacey.


As Stacey discusses her case with the solicitor, Jean storms in and announces that Ruby is dropping the charges.

Thinking there is more to Ruby's sudden change of heart, Stacey decides to confront Ruby herself. Surprisingly, Ruby sticks to her word and contacts DS Barnes, leaving him a message to contact her about the case.



After making the phone call, Ruby and Martin head off for her appointment at the hospital where everything changes.


Ruby is devastated when the doctor reveals she may have endometriosis, a long-term condition that can affect her fertility and have a significant impact on her life.
