Bernie has been determined these past few weeks to get herself fit in a bid to
carry Rainie and Stuart's baby in exchange for a sizable payout.
Unfortunately, after not losing as much weight as she would have liked, Bernie
has resorted to diet pills, but when they don't seem to be working fast
enough, she asks Tiffany to get her stronger ones.
Thankfully Tiffany refuses to get her friend the more potent pills, but when
Bernie discovers the Highway's are about to make their decision over the
surrogacy, she pleads with Tiff once again who reluctantly agrees.
When Vi and Rainie attend Bernie's weight loss group, the young Taylor is
devastated to learn she hasn't lost much weight.
After a chat with Vi, Rainie and Stuart make their decision and inform Bernie
that she has been chosen to be their surrogate.
Rainie reveals that if Bernie is ready, they can make an insemination
appointment this week. Thrilled with their decision, Bernie is delighted when
she receives her first instalment, but it's a lot less than agreed.
When Bernie explains to her friend what's happened, Tiffany tells Bernie to
demand the full payment as agreed, but Rainie is forced to admit that she is
also paying for a private investigator to track down Max Branning.
Later, Bernie leaves Tiffany worried when she becomes more determined than
ever to lose weight and orders more diet pills.
Tiffany understands how much Bernie and her family need the money, but can she
stop her friend from taking the potentially dangerous pills before it's too late?
