EastEnders Reveals Tragedy for Ruby Allen

Ruby receives devastating news after another visit to her GP

EastEnders Reveals Tragedy for Ruby Allen

Earlier this year Ruby and Martin were left heartbroken after losing their unborn baby. Ruby later went on to be diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition that could affect her fertility.

As the young businesswoman continues to come to terms with her condition, she attempts to build bridges with step-daughter Lily, who blames Ruby for her mother going to prison.

After a chat with Isaac, Ruby announces to the children that they should start a worry box, explaining that whatever goes inside remains a secret, leaving Lily sceptical.

Later, after Ruby is caught peeking into Lily's worry box, Jean arrives to try and calm the situation down but Ruby suddenly doubles over in agony.

After visiting her doctor, a tearful Ruby announces she's pregnant and likely to miscarry.

Later Martin confides in Zack, explaining how he feels helpless and wants to keep trying for a baby no matter what.

Despite recent events, Ruby and Lily finally begin to bond after the schoolgirl reads Ruby's worry note, telling her step-mother she thinks she'll be a great mum one day. Soon after Ruby starts to experience excruciating stomach cramps - her miscarriage has started.

Ruby and Lily spend that evening bonding, and now seeing her future differently Ruby tells Martin that she doesn't want to look at other ways of conceiving, instead she wants to focus on the family they already have.

Later, Ruby heads to the monument that she and Martin made, adding a new stone for the baby they lost. As Jean watches on, will she find the words to support her?

EastEnders airs these scenes next week on BBC One. All episodes will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Monday, June 14.
