EastEnders First Look: Surprise Romance for Vinny Panesar

It has been a devastating week for Vinny Panesar after discovering his brother Jags has been killed whilst serving time in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

Jags was falsely imprisoned after Suki let him take the blame for the crime committed by Vinny, so there's the added guilt on top of the grief for his brother.

Soon after the heartbreaking news of Jags' death, Vinny went into a downward spiral and overdosed on drugs.

Upcoming scenes will see Vinny return home, but Kheerat is unnerved by his mothers reaction as she continues to try and hide her pain.

After failing to have a conversation with his mum, Vinny heads off to see Dotty Cotton where the pair end up discussing his brother.

As they talk about Jags' love of music, they decide to dance to his favourite song but the moment soon turns romantic.

Later, Sonia confronts Dotty and asks if she is the one who gave Vinny the pills he used to overdose, something she strongly denies.

Sonia's accusation leaves Dotty rattled and she's left wondering if sleeping with Vinny was a huge mistake.

Speaking about the upcoming romance, Shiv Jalota who plays Vinny revealed to Digital Spy: "It's been a long time coming. Dotty has always been that person who is that anchor, she's got that strength to lift Vinny up.

"He's attached to her now, they end up sleeping together and that means something to him. He feels like that's it, we're a couple now.

"This is how it works for him, from grief Vinny suddenly make these other attachments as a coping mechanism. Vinny really gets a sense of connection with Dotty." he said.

EastEnders air these scenes next week on BBC One and all available episodes will drop on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Monday.
