After last night's gut-wrenching episode which see Isaac Baptiste arrested,
EastEnders has revealed what's next for the character after he is
hospitalised.
Isaac took the decision to stop taking his medication after believing he was
misdiagnosed, but his mental conditioned worsened over the last few weeks.
After Isaac is admitted to a mental health unit, his family rally round him,
but they're delivered a blow when Isaac reveals he doesn't want to see
anyone except Lola.
Before her visit, Lola makes her boyfriend a music playlist, but when she
arrives at the hospital with his mum, Sheree is devastated when she's turned
away.
As Lola comforts her boyfriend as he struggles with his new medication, Isaac makes it clear that he's upset because Lola promised him she wouldn't let him get hurt, leaving her heartbroken.
When she attempts to visit Isaac a second time, she's stopped by Rafe who
informs her that Isaac does not want to see her.
Lola leaves the unit, but returns soon afterwards with a burger. She explains
to Rafe that she will be back every single day with a burger until Isaac agrees to see her.
Speaking about Lola's efforts to support Isaac, Danielle Harold who plays her
explained: "Lola doesn't fully understand schizophrenia and what to do
but they don't either, so everyone has different opinions on what's the right
thing to do and then to come together as a family to try and support him as
best as they can – it's definitely hard."
EastEnders air these scenes next week on BBC One.
