EastEnders has revealed that Tabitha Byron has been cast to play Scarlett Moon, the daughter of Janine Butcher and Michael Moon.
Scarlett is also the half sister of Kat Slater's son, Tommy. Recent spoilers indicated that the huge upcoming fire in Albert Square is started by Scarlett as she attempts to kill her brother.
Tabitha made her television debut starring in CBBC's Hetty Feather, before going on to star in HBO's The Third Day, and most recently her role in critically acclaimed anthology Small Axe.
With soap bosses teasing that Janine will have her hands full when she arrives back in Walford, Charlie Brooks who plays her revealed her excitement at her return: "I am beyond excited to be slipping back into Janine's shoes and returning to the Square.
"The time feels right and I can't wait to find out what she's been up to for the last seven years!" commented Brooks.
"She is and always has been SO much fun to play. Feels a bit like coming home. It's good to be back." she said.
EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One.
