The BBC have wowed fans of the show with their new EastEnders advertising campaign. The marketing showcases characters of the soap, as well as real-life communities across the country.
The campaign was created by BBC Creative, featuring photography by Siân Davey and a film directed by John Dower.
The idea was to match the fictional characters to groups of real people living their everyday lives. All the posters contain drama and hidden narratives: “It’s been thrilling to bring to life what makes EastEnders so special and to meet the many different people across the UK that share this same spirit,” Susan Ayton, creative director at BBC Creative, told Creative review.
You would have to live under a rock to avoid coming across the advertising, playing out on all platforms from social media, radio, and even billboards.
The campaign was launched to coincide with the return of Janine Butcher, as well as the explosive start of the autumn storylines.
EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One.
