The rollercoaster that is the relationship between Jean Slater and Ruby Allen will continue to derail next week when Jean returns from her trip away.
Before her trip, Jean warned Ruby to come clean to Martin about her daughter Stacey, to no avail. But it looks like Ruby's luck could be about to change.
When Jean arrives home, it soon becomes obvious that Ruby hasn't told Martin the truth, and while Ruby tries to keep her husband away from Jean, eventually he goes to see how she is.
Speaking to Jean outside her garage, Martin is surprised by her reaction as she ushers him away from her property.
Martin has absolutely no idea that Jean is hiding marijuana in the garage, left by Mo before she left Walford.
When Martin arrives home, Ruby initially believes Jean has revealed everything, but Martin explains her reaction leaving them wondering what she's hiding.
Later, as Jean seeks advice from Shirley about what to do with the plants, Martin tries to reach out to her again, this time he's interrupted by a call from Lily's school.
When Martin returns home with his daughter, he informs Ruby that Lily was caught with marijuana, with the schoolgirl claiming she got it from a classmate.
It's not long before Ruby starts to join the dots, so when she crosses paths with Jean later in the week, Jean's threat to expose her leaves Ruby with no choice but to make a threat of her own.
