Speaking to Digital Spy over Whitney's decision to hold back from reporting
Gray's crime to the police, Shona McGarty who plays her has revealed she
agrees with fans, but would it really make for great television if Whitney did?
Whitney, Kheerat and Chelsea teamed up together to take down murderer Gray
Atkins, but his manipulation has worked on Chelsea, who is currently at the
receiving end of his abuse.
With Whitney and Kheerat left to bring him down, Kheerat made the decision to
start tormenting the serial-killer by sending him messages posing as his dead
wife, Chantelle.
Speaking about Kheerat's decision to start sending the messages, which ultimately put Chelsea in danger, Shona explained: "she thought Kheerat was her best bet. From the outside looking in, he's strong and quite clever"
"He knows what he's talking about and the police didn't do anything anyway,
which leaves them in danger. I mean, maybe they should have gone to the police
sooner, but then it wouldn't be EastEnders, would it?" she said.
But with Kheerat going rogue by sending the messages, has Whitney lost trust in her detective partner? - "Kheerat does assure Whitney that all is in hand and to trust him but she can't help but worry that Gray could kill him if this all goes wrong. Whitney thinks it's a very, very silly thing to do."
Next week sees a showdown between Kheerat and Gray, with one of them left
fighting for their life. (READ HERE) Who will come out on top?
