EastEnders will air some joyous episodes next week when Bernie gives birth to their new baby, unfortunately this comes at
a time the couple receive some devastating news.
Stuart recently agreed to visit his doctor for a check up on his
cancer, this comes after Rainie expressed her concerns over Stuart turning to
alternative treatments to battle his condition.
Upcoming scenes will see Stuart told the alternative treatment isn't working,
in fact his cancer has grown.
The doctor emphasises how urgent proper treatment is needed if he's to stand
any chance of beating the disease.
Later Bernadette is furious when Sonia lets slip that Stuart is ill, but when
she confronts Rainie, she lies and claims Stuart is beating the illness,
worried Bernie will change her mind about the baby.
After Bernie gives birth, she decides to honor their agreement and hands over
the baby boy to Rainie and Stuart.
She begins to feel guilty for making Bernie come to a huge decision based
on a lie. Rainie is forced to accept that Stuart isn't getting better, he's
getting worse and there's every chance he doesn't have long to live.
Rainie tells Bernie everything about Stuart's condition. Will she change her
mind about the baby?
