It has recently been revealed that ex-EastEnders executive producer Bryan
Kirkwood will be returning to the soap.
Bryan stepped down as exec producer back in 2012/2013, before heading off to
Hollyoaks which he quit in 2020.
Don't worry, Chris Clenshaw is still the new executive producer of EastEnders,
it has been reported that Bryan is back as a writer for the soap.
When Kirkwood took over the top job at EastEnders back in 2010, his first
big decision was the reintroduction of characters Kat and Alfie Moon.

| Ben and Phil Mitchell |
In April and May 2010 he axed eight characters: Charlie Slater, Minty
Peterson, Libby Fox, Liz Turner, Adam Best, Danny Mitchell, Zsa Zsa Carter and
Leon Small.
In June 2010, he brought back Sam Mitchell and Kim Fox, and recast Ben
Mitchell, Lucy Beale, and Lauren Branning.
In July 2010 he cast Steve John Shepherd to play a new character, Michael
Moon, a cousin of Alfie.
What big storylines do you think he has in mind?
