Viewers were left heartbroken for Callum Highway in Thursday night's episode when the character spotted his husband kiss Kathy's bar manager, Lewis.
What Callum didn't know was although Ben didn't react aggressively towards the kiss, he did remind Lewis that he's married.
Next week will see Callum feel truly heartbroken as his marriage struggles with yet another hurdle, and Ben's insistence that the kiss meant nothing doesn't do much to quash those feelings.
After an eye opening chat with Lewis, Callum decides to put his hurt to one side and shows Ben the keys to the flat, proving how committed to the marriage he is.
Callum also takes the opportunity to set out some rules. He insists Ben never sees Lewis again, and he'll also keep quiet about Ben being the Walford attacker, but he won't stay quiet if something like this ever happens again.
Despite appearing to move on from the betrayal, Callum struggles with his feelings towards the end of the week and speaks to Lewis once again, but Lewis holds no remorse over his actions and tells Callum to get over it.
Can Ben and Callum move on from this latest dilemma? Speaking to Digital Spy, Tony Clay who plays the police officer, admitted: "as things unravel, he starts to wonder whether it is something that he can put up with."
EastEnders air these scenes next week on BBC One.
