EastEnders announced yesterday that Shane Richie will be stepping back into Alfie's shoes once again as the previous Vic landlord makes his return to Walford.
Alfie was last seen way back in 2019 when he fled the Square after defrauding Phil Mitchell, but a lot has changed since his departure, including his ex-wife being in a relationship with the man he stole from!
EastEnders has said to keep your eyes peeled in an upcoming scene which will begin to explain why Alfie is coming home.
Bosses have said his return will cause all types of problems for Kat and Phil, as the pair try to rebuild their lives following his stretch behind bars.
With Alfie's return set to air on our screens in the autumn, new executive producer Chris Clenshaw, who is a huge fan of Kat and Alfie, will likely want to repair some of the damage done to the character in recent years.
Speaking of his upcoming return, actor Shane Richie said: "It's an absolute honour and privilege to be asked back to my TV home of Albert Square,"
"I'm looking forward to catching up with some old cast mates and meeting some new ones.
"The new exec producer Chris Clenshaw has been instrumental in wanting to bring Alfie Moon back with some wonderful storylines… and who am I to say no?! I can't wait." he said.
Let us know what you think. Will you be glad to see Alfie back in the Square? What would you like to see happen with the character when he returns?

So happy that Allie is coming back, love his character!!!
